The team of applicant companies of INNOMA aims to the development of real strategies that, either from the technological and biotechnological point of view can encourage the wellbeing of people.

THE INNOMA PROJECT will allow the realization of new diagnostic and therapeutic tools for the health of patients affected by Metabolic Syndrome.

A software system will support the clinical protocols that will be implemented within the treatments of this disease.

In particular, we will realize a system for the collection and management of analytical data and a database available through querying algorithms. The software will allow the integration of the patient’s medical records, preliminary to the creation of an epidemiological register. Moreover, we will develop a telemedicine platform that will allow an active monitoring of patients by the team of physicians and experts that will adopt this system.

Patients, in their turn, will have the possibility to consult a Patient’s APP, linked to the platform that will allow the patient to obtain the information useful to the monitoring of his/her health.

The software developed will be applied to a specific clinical target, formed by persons affected by Metabolic Syndrome (MS), considering its constant and progressive diffusion in the Western world.

The samples, collected in the same way by healthy subjects and by patients affected by Metabolic Syndrome recruited for the testing, will be subject to Metagenomic analysis, through Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) technologies, aiming to identify the “identity card” of the resident microbiota.

At a later stage, the data deriving from the analysis of the microbiota, together with the biochemical and instrumental data of the recruited subjects, will populate the database created by the software developed in INNOMA.

Then, the results obtained by the correlation of data, realized through the specific software, will be the starting point to identify and then select new bacterial strains to be used either for the planning of predictive diagnostic tests and for the realization of new probiotics and functional food with preventive features.

The INNOMA project pursues as final aim to answer, in the correct form, to the needs, shared by Confindustria Bari-Bat and by the technological district H-BIO, of the field of reference “Health, Wellbeing and Socio-Cultural Dynamics”.
